Section 28
Work, Duties and Powers of the Center
The work, duties and powers of the Center shall be as follows:-
(a) Supporting the local level in the development of appropriate technology and capacity building for waste management,
(b) To monitor and evaluate the technical aspects of waste management and suggest to the relevant local level regarding the improvements to be made,
(c) To formulate the annual budget and program of the center and submit it to the board of directors for approval (d) Assisting local levels in waste management,
(e) To prepare and submit to the Council for approval the nature and quantity of garbage of a particular place, its collection, treatment, transportation, disposal or destruction process and the minimum standards to be adopted for the same,
(f) Development, extension and propagation of new technologies related to waste management (G) To provide technical support to the local level for the construction of structures related to waste management,
(h) Conducting research or conducting studies related to waste management and collecting data and publishing accurate details of the state of waste management,
(i) Working as a resource center and study center to develop skilled manpower and capacity building for waste management,
(j) To draw the attention of relevant agencies for the proper management of harmful, health institutional chemical and industrial waste,
(k) To identify and develop ways to reduce the production of waste based on the nature of the waste, and to encourage its adoption,
(l) To prepare the strategy to be adopted to gather public participation in the waste management work and submit it to the Council for approval,
(d) Making suggestions to the local level regarding the determination and collection of service fees by conducting a detailed study on making solid waste management work reliable and financially self-sufficient,
(d) Implementation of the decisions of the Council, Board of Directors and Coordinating CommitteeTo make or cause to sound,
(n) If the private sector person, organization or agency that manages waste requests the center's technical assistance or consultation, providing assistance or consultation by charging a service fee,
(t) To perform other tasks as specified.
